South Knoxville Elementary, along with community partners, provides access to several resources. Please explore what's going on at SKE.

Enrollment
South Knoxville Elementary serves about 190 students in Pre-K through 5th Grade.
Kindergarten through 5th Grades have two classes per grade level. Our Pre-K program consists of one class.

Schedule
Standard School Day
The standard school day begins at 7:45 a.m. Students may begin arriving on campus at 7:15 a.m. Students should report to the cafeteria for breakfast. They will then proceed to the gym. Students are dismissed to their classrooms at 7:35 a.m.
Students must attend school for at least 3.5 hours to be counted present for the day.
Dismissal begins at 2:40 p.m. with bus riders and walkers. Car riders, Boys & Girls Club, and all after-school clubs dismiss at 2:45 p.m. All students must be picked up by 3:15 p.m. unless enrolled in an after-school program.
Scheduled Half Days
On scheduled half days, school will dismiss at 11:15 a.m. Lunch will not be served.



Student Supports
The SKE community is committed to establishing an atmosphere in which children feel safe, secure, and happy. We provide opportunities to learn, achieve, and grow. South Knoxville Elementary has a trained counselor, an instructional coach, a full-time nurse, a social worker, a school psychologist, and partnerships with numerous community supports.

Extracurricular Activities
SKE offers many opportunities for enrichment. Staff and volunteers lead students in a variety of extracurricular learning opportunities.

Library / Media Center
Our library is a hub for student learning, reading, and discovery. In addition to the school library, teachers may maintain individual collections of age-appropriate books in their classrooms to support literacy and foster a love of reading.
