Dr. Sherrie Fairchild-Keyes

Hello! My name is Dr. Sherrie Fairchild-Keyes, though most people call me Dr. Fairchild. I am honored to serve as the Executive Principal of South Knox Elementary School. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of teaching middle and high school science, leading alternative education programs, serving as an elementary principal, and providing training and coaching for school leaders and teachers.

I began my career in education in 1996, teaching Chemistry and Biology at Anderson County High School. In 2001, I moved to South Florida, where I taught middle and high school science for seven years and developed a passion for leadership. In 2008, I transitioned from classroom teaching to school administration as Director of The Keys Center, an alternative education program for adolescent girls.

In 2009, I returned to East Tennessee to pursue my doctorate at the University of Tennessee and began serving as a school administrator with Oak Ridge Schools. I was principal of Secret City Academy (2009–2014) and Willow Brook Elementary School (2014–2021). In 2016, I earned my Ph.D. in Education with a concentration in Cultural Studies. My studies and research continue to inform my commitment to inclusivity, culturally responsive practices, and strong partnerships with families.

A pivotal point in my career came in 2021, when I joined the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (NIET) as a Senior Specialist. In this role, I supported school leaders and teachers across Tennessee, South Carolina, and Louisiana. Although the work was deeply fulfilling, I felt called to return to the school setting.

In July 2025, I joined the South Knox Elementary team and am thrilled to continue building strong, lasting relationships with our students, staff, families, and community partners.

Reggie Mosley

Reggie Mosley is an educational leader with more than three decades of experience in instructional leadership, school administration, and teacher development within Knox County Schools. A dedicated educator and mentor, he has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to academic excellence, school improvement, and the success of both students and staff.

Reggie began his educational journey at Knoxville College, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. He continued his professional studies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and later obtained a master's degree in administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University. In 2000, he further advanced his expertise by earning an Educational Specialist Degree (Ed.S.) in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University, solidifying his foundation in both instructional leadership and curriculum development.

Throughout his career, Reggie has served in multiple leadership capacities, including as Principal at four Knox County Schools—Pleasant Ridge Elementary (2003), Blue Grass Elementary (2008), Sarah Moore Green Magnet School (2012), and Farragut Intermediate School (2014). Under his leadership, each school experienced measurable academic growth, organizational improvement, and strengthened community engagement. His ability to motivate staff, build positive school cultures, and implement effective instructional practices has consistently resulted in improved student outcomes.

Although currently retired, Reggie continues to make an impact as a Consultant for Knox County Schools, supporting school leaders and educators in carrying out their mission to provide high-quality instruction and equitable learning opportunities for all students. Known for his integrity, vision, and collaborative leadership, Reggie remains committed to inspiring excellence in education and fostering environments where both students and teachers can thrive.
